Our Story
Hello, I’m Ruth, and alongside my husband Greg, we are the proud owners of Greenacres Estates. Our journey together started in the South of France in 2012, where Greg was working on yachts, and I was managing holiday apartments in Nice. Originally from Sheffield, I had always loved exploring new places, and it was in France that I discovered my passion for hospitality. Little did I know, I would meet Greg there, and together we would begin a journey that would eventually lead us to Pembrokeshire.
We got married in 2017 in the beautiful countryside in Valbonne in Provence, celebrating with close friends and family at a gorgeous stone mas. But as much as we loved France, we wanted to put down roots somewhere we could grow. The Côte d’Azur was breathtaking but came with sky-high property prices, and my small apartment by the beach just wasn’t big enough for family to visit. Pembrokeshire, where Greg was born and raised, started calling us home.
Greg already had a holiday apartment in Cardiff that was running successfully, and we loved the idea of creating places where people could come together and make memories. So, in 2018, we took on our first project at our home, Greenacres Hideaway—turning a single holiday cottage into something truly special. That cottage, now known as Cherry Tree, became the very first step in what would grow into Greenacres Estates. A year later, in 2019, Luna Cabin arrived, bringing a unique, handcrafted space to our collection.

Building Greenacres Estates
While Greg still works away half the year, I run the business on the ground with the help of my wonderful mother-in-law Lesley, father-in-law Dennis (who keeps the gardens looking fantastic), and our dedicated team of cleaners. Together, we make sure every stay is as welcoming and comfortable as possible.
In 2022, we took on an even bigger project—becoming the custodians of Holyland House. A place well known by the locals. As a teenager, Greg even worked there, collecting glasses for functions when it was run as a hotel. Now, we’re restoring this stunning period property to its former glory, making it a beautiful space for guests to enjoy once again.
That same year, our son Harrison arrived, and he’s been along for the journey ever since! Whether he’s “helping” with practical tasks, exploring the gardens, or charming our guests, he’s already making his mark on Greenacres Estates in his own way.
A Stay to Remember
From the very beginning, Greg and I have loved hosting. Even in my tiny apartment in France, we would squeeze in friends for dinner parties and gatherings, making the most of every space. Over the years, our travels—from sailing in Croatia and Greece to honeymooning in South Africa and exploring the United States—have inspired what we want Greenacres Estates to be.
Each of our properties has something for everyone—whether you’re a family looking for space to explore, a couple seeking a romantic getaway, or someone working in the area who wants a home-from-home.
We are so grateful to have so many returning guests, and nothing makes us happier than hearing that people feel truly at home when they stay with us.
We can’t wait to welcome you!
See you soon,
Ruth
